Privacy Policy
This policy covers the Sree Kolathur Cafe website — the main site, the party hall booking page, and the menu & ordering page. It explains what information we collect when you use them, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
We only collect what's needed to take a booking or an order:
- Your name, phone number, and email address (email is optional in some places)
- For party hall bookings: the date, time, duration, and number of guests
- For menu orders: the items you ordered, quantities, dine-in table number or pickup choice, and any notes you add
- Payment confirmation details (a payment ID and verification result) — we do not see or store your card number, UPI PIN, or netbanking login; those are handled entirely by our payment processor, Razorpay
Cookies & analytics
The site uses a small number of cookies:
- A session cookie (essential) that lets the server recognise your browser between requests. It holds a random ID only — no personal information — and can't be read by any other website.
- A consent cookie (essential) that remembers whether you chose "Accept all" or "Essential only" in the cookie notice, so it doesn't ask again.
- Staff login cookies (essential, café staff only) that keep the admin and lobby dashboards signed in.
- Google Analytics cookies (optional) — only set if you choose "Accept all". They tell us, in aggregate, which pages are useful and how many orders the website brings in. IP addresses are anonymised and nothing is used for advertising.
We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.
We don't use advertising cookies.
Third parties this site talks to
- Razorpay — processes payments (card, UPI, netbanking, UPI QR). Their own privacy policy governs how they handle your payment details.
- Google Maps — the embedded map and driving-directions links.
- Open-Meteo (or another forecast provider, if the café switches later) — provides the live weather shown on the homepage. Only an approximate location (or the café's own location, if you don't share yours) is sent to fetch the forecast.
- WhatsApp — if you use a "send to cafe on WhatsApp" button, that opens WhatsApp with your message pre-filled; nothing is sent until you press send on your end.
- Google Analytics — only if you accept analytics cookies (see above).
- Vercel — hosts the website and provides cookieless page-view counts.
- Supabase — securely stores booking and order records and site photos.
How long we keep it
Booking and order records are kept so we can honour them, handle any follow-up questions, and meet basic bookkeeping requirements. If you'd like your details removed sooner, contact us using the details below.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or delete it yourself — the Find My Ticket page lets you look up a booking or order with its ID and your phone number, then remove your name, phone, and email from it directly (the booking/order itself stays on file, anonymized, for our accounting records).
